Box Footwork
Receivingintermediate15 min2+ players
Description
Drill to help wide receivers work on running routes and timing with their Quarterback.
Instructions
- Set up a box that is about 5 x 5 yards.
- Line up WRs at the bottom cone of the box. One WR will be active at a time.
- QB stands in line with the bottom of the box about 10 yards inside.
- WR will zig zag through the cones and catch the pass after they leave the box.
Points to Stress
- Get your WRs to explode out of their cuts by pushing off their outside foot. This is also a great time for the Quarterback to practice their 3 step drop while the WR is running through the box.
