The Trips formation in Play 2 creates a triangle of routes at three different depths on the same side of the field. Your QB should work high to low, starting with the deepest route and coming down to the intermediate and then the flat route. This is a great play against a defense playing soft zone because there will almost always be a window to throw into. Use it when you need a reliable gain of 8 to 12 yards.
