Double Back Play 1 is your foundation play from this run-heavy formation. Both backs can get the handoff or a short pass, giving your QB multiple options before the snap. Teach your QB to check the linebacker depth — if they are playing deep, hand it off; if they are up on the line, check out to a receiver. Establishing the run threat from this formation early makes everything else you run out of it more effective.
