HB Option

Play Notes
The HB Option puts your quarterback in a read-and-run situation where he can keep the ball or hand to a running back based on the defensive end. Teach your QB to read that first defender — if he crashes, hand it off; if he sits, keep it and turn upfield. This play is most effective when you have already shown the defense a pass game and they are not expecting your QB to run. It is also a great play for athletic QBs who can create yards on their own.
