Play Notes
Single Back Play 3 uses one back in the backfield alongside a receiver combo to create run-pass conflict that the defense must account for. Your QB reads the route combination on the strong side first, and if it's covered, kicks it to the isolated receiver or dumps off to the back. With your back as a built-in safety valve, your QB always has somewhere to go with the ball. This is a great play in short-yardage situations when the defense expects a run.
