Three on Two Running Drill
Full game-situation drill: Center, QB, RB vs. Lineman and Linebacker — RB tries to get through one of two cone gates downfield.
Three on Two Running Drill
DrillDescription
This is one of the best all-purpose drills in flag football. It gets five players into a game situation at once, practicing snap, handoff, running, pursuit, and flag-pulling simultaneously.
How to run it
- 1
Offense: Center, QB, RB. Defense: Lineman and Linebacker.
- 2
Set two cone gates 5 yards downfield — left and right of center.
- 3
QB calls signals and takes the snap from center.
- 4
QB hands off to RB.
- 5
RB reads the defense and tries to get through a gate.
- 6
Defense pursues and attempts to pull the flag.
Points to stress
- QB: clean snap and clean handoff — no fumbles.
- RB: pick your lane BEFORE the snap.
- Defense: communicate — assign a lane to each defender, don't both go to the same one.
- Rotate positions after every rep.
