Accuracy Target Drill (Bullseye)
QBs take turns throwing at a stationary target (hula hoop, bucket, or cone circle) at increasing distances to build accuracy and touch.
Accuracy Target Drill (Bullseye)
DrillDescription
Accuracy is the most important skill a QB can develop. This target drill gives QBs immediate, objective feedback on every throw — making it easy to self-correct and compete with teammates.
How to run it
- 1
Set up a target (hula hoop between two cones, or a circle of cones) at 10 yards.
- 2
QBs take turns throwing at the target.
- 3
Move target to 15 yards, then 20 yards.
- 4
Make it a competition: most targets hit in 5 throws wins.
Points to stress
- Aim small, miss small — pick a specific spot in the target.
- Spiral = accuracy. Focus on your release point.
- Follow through — point your fingers at the target after the throw.
- Adjust arc for distance — don't just throw harder.
