Two-Line Passing Warm-Up
DrillDescription
This simple warm-up packs in 30-40 catches per player before the real work starts. It gives coaches an early look at throwing mechanics and hand-eye coordination while getting both QBs and receivers into a throwing rhythm.
How to run it
- 1
Players pair up and stand facing each other.
- 2
Start 5-10 yards apart based on player age and ability.
- 3
On the coach's signal, begin throwing and catching.
- 4
After 2-3 minutes, have one side step back 3-5 yards.
- 5
Continue. Repeat the step-back one more time.
- 6
Finish back at starting distance.
Points to stress
- Keep the football tight — laces away from palm.
- Step into every throw — don't arm it.
- Follow through toward your target.
- Eyes on the ball all the way into your hands.
