Facing a mobile QB can be very challenging. This drill is about working on containing a mobile QB with a rusher and a spy working together. This drill also is great for your QB development so they can on making decisions under pressure.

Description

One of the most challenging scenarios is facing a team with a very good, mobile QB. This drill will help you defend against that team.

How to run it

  1. 1

    Create a middle zone with four cones

  2. 2

    Line up a Center and a QB in shotgun behind them

  3. 3

    Have two defensive players lined up at the blitz line (7 yards out)

  4. 4

    Snap the ball and send one of your defenders in on the rush and have the other one be a spy while also defending the center who can run out for a pass.

  5. 5

    Have your QB try to beat them by either running or passing. The Center should stay in the middle zone so that it makes it a bit more challenging for the offense.

Points to stress

  • The rusher must break down so they dont run past the QB or make it too easy for them to get by.
