Box Footwork
This drill helps WRs work on their agility and also helps with QB/WR timing. You can run this drill with as little as two players but it scales up well.
Box Footwork
DrillDescription
Drill to help wide receivers work on running routes and timing with their Quarterback.
How to run it
- 1
Set up a box that is about 5 x 5 yards.
- 2
Line up WRs at the bottom cone of the box. One WR will be active at a time.
- 3
QB stands in line with the bottom of the box about 10 yards inside.
- 4
WR will zig zag through the cones and catch the pass after they leave the box.
Points to stress
- Get your WRs to explode out of their cuts by pushing off their outside foot. This is also a great time for the Quarterback to practice their 3 step drop while the WR is running through the box.
