Catching Lines
Receivers run toward the QB who rotates throws to different heights and sides, building hand versatility and in-stride catching.
Catching Lines
DrillDescription
Games never deliver the same throw twice. Catching Lines simulates real variety — high, low, left, right — so receivers develop the full-body catching instincts needed to make adjustments on the fly.
How to run it
- 1
Set up two cones 15 yards apart.
- 2
QB stands at one cone, line of receivers at the other.
- 3
Receivers run toward the QB one at a time.
- 4
QB rotates throws: high, low, left side, right side.
- 5
Receiver catches in stride and loops back to the line.
- 6
Optional: WR begins with a spin move before approaching.
Points to stress
- Read the ball early — find it before it is on you.
- Adjust your hands to the throw — do not body-catch.
- Eyes on the ball all the way into your hands.
- After a spin: get your eyes back to the QB immediately.
