Football Tennis
Teams throw a football over a cone/rope 'net' and the other side must catch it — a point is scored if the ball hits the ground.
Football Tennis
DrillDescription
A fun, competitive game that builds throwing accuracy and catching under pressure. Football Tennis keeps players engaged, encourages communication, and mirrors the real-game skill of tracking throws from unexpected angles.
How to run it
- 1
Set up a cone line or low rope across a small area (the 'net').
- 2
Divide players into two teams of 2-3 on each side.
- 3
Teams take turns throwing the ball over the net.
- 4
The receiving team must catch it before it hits the ground.
- 5
If it hits the ground, the throwing team scores a point.
- 6
First team to 7 wins.
Points to stress
- Throw with accuracy — a bad throw that can't be caught doesn't count.
- Call your name when you have the catch — communicate.
- Track the ball from the moment it leaves the thrower's hand.
- Catch with your hands, not your body.
