Description

Running 5 different routes in rapid succession trains both the QB and WR to execute each pattern with precision. This drill builds route-running muscle memory and QB timing in a single focused session.

How to run it

  1. 1

    WR lines up at the LOS.

  2. 2

    WR runs a slant route. QB throws. Reset.

  3. 3

    WR runs an out route. QB throws. Reset.

  4. 4

    WR runs a curl route. QB throws. Reset.

  5. 5

    WR runs a post route. QB throws. Reset.

  6. 6

    WR runs a corner route. QB throws. Reset.

  7. 7

    Rotate WR. Repeat full sequence.

Points to stress

  • Sell the route before the break — make the defender think you're going somewhere else.
  • Drive off your plant foot hard at every break.
  • Hit the exact depth before you cut — don't cut early.
  • QB: trust the route, throw to the spot.
