Description

The fade is the most demanding route in flag football — it requires a perfect throw, perfect release timing, and WR willingness to go up and get the ball. This drill builds that connection and teaches WRs to trust the throw.

How to run it

  1. 1

WR lines up at the LOS.

  2. 2

WR pushes straight upfield then angles toward the sideline.

  3. 3

QB throws a high arcing pass to the back shoulder.

  4. 4

WR looks back over outside shoulder and goes up for the ball.

  5. 5

WR secures the catch at the highest point.

Points to stress

  • Push the defender with your speed — don't curve early.
  • Look over your OUTSIDE shoulder — not inside.
  • Go UP and get the ball — don't wait for it to come to you.
  • QB: throw to the back shoulder, not ahead.
